Payments

I accept all major credit cards and HSA cards for therapy services (I cannot accept HSA cards for Brainspotting or Readings). Payment methods are kept on file and are charged after each session. If you fail to provide 24 hours cancellation notice, or fail to show up for your appointment, you will be charged for the full session fee. Late cancellations and no-show appointments do not give enough time to fill your reserved spot with a client on the waiting list or clients waiting for an emergency session.

Cost & Billing for Therapy

  • I do not take insurance. I am a private-pay practice, which means you pay for sessions at the time of service.

  • Insurance providers often limit the amount of sessions they will cover and will not provide coverage if a diagnosis is not provided (even when there is no diagnosis to give). I believe you are ever-evolving and should not have to be given a diagnosis to receive mental health treatment.

I am committed to quality, individualized care. Therefore, I spend the hours that I would be on the phone negotiating with insurance providers, in sessions or furthering my clinical knowledge and expertise to ensure you receive the most current, quality care.

For those who would like to use their insurance, you have the option of using your out-of-network insurance benefits. I provide superbills (a receipt for services) that you can submit to your insurance provider. Please read below for more information on superbills.

  • A superbill is a detailed receipt for services that you submit directly to your insurance provider. Superbills can be a great way to be fully or partially reimbursed for the cost of your out-of-pocket therapy sessions. If you would like to use Superbills, I suggest reaching out to your insurance company and asking:

    • Do I have out-of -network coverage for mental health?

    • What is my out-of-network deductible?

    • What is the coverage amount per therapy session for CPT 90806 and 90808?

    • What is my copay (before and after I reach my deductible)?

  • Yes. I reserve a few spots for sliding scale clients. Please email sarahdugasllc@gmail.com to inquire about current openings or to be added to the waitlist.

  • You must be a Maine resident to be a therapy client. If you are outside the state of Maine and are interested in treatment, you can explore other options for working together under Brainspotting and Readings.

Good Faith Estimate-

The statement below applies to Intuitive Therapy Services only and does not apply to Brainspotting or Readings.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care will cost.

Health care providers are required to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, please contact The Soul Work Center at sarahdugasllc@gmail.com to dispute the charge.
