Brainspotting (BSP) is a body‑based therapy created by Dr. David Grand that uses where you look to help change how you feel. During a session, the therapist guides your gaze to specific spots while you pay close attention to your sensations and emotions. This helps reach parts of the brain and body that store automatic survival reactions—like fight, flight, or freeze—that often hold on to past hurts.
When trauma or intense stress gets stored in those automatic systems, the body can keep reacting as if danger is present long after the event is over. That shows up as anxiety, panic, anger, shutting down, or other strong, unwanted reactions to reminders of the past.
Brainspotting provides a focused, gentle way to find and work with those hidden, body‑based memories so the nervous system can process them. As a result, people usually notice fewer and less intense stress reactions, better emotional balance, and a greater sense of integration after difficult experiences. Over time, BSP can lead to more lasting improvements in mental health, resilience, and overall well‑being, and it’s often helpful for healing from trauma and repairing attachment wounds.

Yes — Brainspotting is equally effective via telehealth as in person, offering the same depth of embodied processing and healing while allowing you to work from the comfort and safety of your own home.
Here’s why doing Brainspotting remotely can be equally as supportive as in person sessions:
Access from a familiar space
Receiving Brainspotting virtually lets you work from a place that already feels safe. Familiar surroundings can reduce anxiety and make it easier to connect with inward experiences.Consistency and continuity of care
Remote sessions remove travel barriers and make it easier to keep appointments, which supports steady progress and trust in the therapeutic process.Comfort with physical needs and pacing
You can adjust your environment—seating, lighting, blankets, drinks—so your body is supported. That control helps you regulate nervous system responses during and after processing.Flexibility in scheduling
Remote work often allows for appointments at times that fit your life—reducing stress about fitting healing into a busy schedule.Support for grounding and integration at session end
After intense processing, you can remain in your own space to rest and integrate immediately, with your clinician guiding safe grounding practices before you return to daily demands.
If you have concerns about doing Brainspotting remotely, we can discuss how to adapt the session for your comfort before we begin.

“Sarah has been an asset to my existence, to my growth, and empowerment.”
I’ve received many services from Sarah and, most recently, have done Brainspotting. I am really understanding who I am now and am reclaiming my nervous system. Sarah is subtle and direct, quiet and bold. Her Brainspotting stick is a magic wand and she is truly a High Priestess. The balance she has of intuition and information has brought out the best in me and helped me to love the “worst.” If you really want to commit to yourself, commit to a series of Brainspotting sessions with Sarah. She will nurture your best parts, shed light on your resistance, and lead you to true expansion without judgement.
